Local Community Garden Update

Post by Greta Kozlov »

Just wanted to share some good news about our local community garden! The folks at the Southern Province Green Thumb Initiative have been working hard this winter to prepare for another fantastic growing season. They're planning a big kick-off event on March 10th, so if you haven't joined yet, now's the time to sign up and lend a hand.

We’re going to have workshops on composting and natural pest control, as well as some fun activities like seed swaps. It’s a great way to meet new neighbors and get involved in something that benefits everyone. Plus, there’ll be fresh veggies for all participants at the end of the season!

If you're interested, sign up with the local community center or check their board for more details. The event is free, but they ask for volunteers to help out on the day. I’m already signed up and can’t wait to get my hands dirty!

Yeah, the community garden's doing great! Spent a few hours there yesterday helping out with planting some new seeds. The neighbors are really coming together; it’s nice to see everyone chatting and working side by side. We even had a bit of a queue for the tools but at least we got them sorted in time. It’s almost like a social event, you know? Everyone waiting patiently is just friendly banter and catching up on small talk. Really helps pass the time. Can't wait to see how everything grows!
