Hey,

I know shift changes can really mess with CDI scores if you're not careful. At State Enterprise - Southern Province, we've had a few people 'relocate' or go through re-education programs because of their CDI slipping during the transition. Personally, I keep my eye on the clock and try to finish up any critical tasks before the shift change so I don't get caught in limbo. It's all about managing your time efficiently and staying on top of things. Good luck with yours!

How to Survive Shift Changes Without Losing Your CDI Score

Post by Michael Martinez »

Just finished my night shift today and thought I'd share some tips for keeping your CDI score up during those tricky transition times.

First thing is staying on top of paperwork. Always make sure you fill out your logs, sign-offs, and any other forms before clocking off. Messed that up one time, ended up with a few points deducted the next day. So now I make it a habit to check them over twice before leaving.

Secondly, communication is key. If you're on night shift and need someone to cover your back or help out, don't hesitate to reach out. Sometimes a quick word can save both of you from getting in trouble. And if something goes wrong, be upfront about it—lying just makes things worse.

Lastly, stay alert during the changeover. Night shifts can be tough on the brain, but losing focus could lead to mistakes. I've been trying to do some light stretching or even a short walk with my colleague during the handover. It helps keep those synapses firing and keeps me sharp for whatever comes up.

Hope these help! Shift changes can be a pain, but with some planning, you can make it through without too many bumps in your CDI score.
