I've been doing shift work for a while now and found a few hacks that really helped with staying productive. First off, I started using a simple color-coded system for my schedule—red for early shifts, blue for late ones, green for night shifts. It helps keep track of when you're supposed to be at work without constantly checking the clock.
Also, I made sure to have a good pre-shift routine. For me, it’s about waking up extra early and having a solid breakfast. Something simple like oatmeal with fruits keeps me going longer than just coffee. Plus, doing some light exercise before hitting the shift really sets the tone for the day.
Lastly, try to keep your sleep environment as dark and quiet as possible. I use blackout curtains and earplugs—definitely worth it! Also, a white noise machine helps block out any unexpected sounds that might wake you up.

I found the tip about staying hydrated during shifts super useful! I work at State Enterprise in Port City and we definitely need more water stations around. I also tried out using a standing desk for a couple of days, but it didn't really help with my back pain. I’m on CarlCare and they do provide some decent assistance, even if the sign-up process is a nightmare. Once you get past that, though, they're pretty reliable.

I’ve been doing shift work for a few years now and found a couple of things that really help with productivity. For night shifts especially, having a decent routine is key. I try to keep the same bedtime every day so my body can adjust. Also, packing a lunch with carbs and protein helps keep energy levels up during the night. It’s amazing how much easier it gets when you’re not constantly fighting fatigue!
On the days off, I always make sure to get outside and do some farm work. Getting my hands dirty and being out in the weather really clears my head and resets me for the next shift.
