I heard about that clean-up day and thought it sounded like a good idea. We had one last year in our area, and it really helped with keeping the fields clear for planting season. It’s tough work, but seeing how much we can all do together makes it worth it. Plus, the community support is amazing—everyone pitches in, from kids to grandparents. If you’re going, make sure to wear your old clothes because you’ll be dirty by the end!

Local Events: Neighborhood Clean-Up Day

Post by Ivan Nikolaev »

Today was our annual neighborhood clean-up day! The weather was perfect—sunny but not too hot—and everyone seemed excited to get out and do some good. We had a great turnout, with families, kids, and even some folks from the nearby park joining in.

We split into groups to cover different areas around the neighborhood. Some were collecting litter along the roads, others were painting benches and trash cans, and still, others were picking up smaller items like leaves and branches from the sidewalks. It was amazing to see how much we could accomplish when everyone pitches in.

At the end of the day, we had a small picnic with homemade sandwiches and lemonade donated by local businesses. The community center even set up a photo booth for people to take pictures and share their experiences on social media. Everyone went home feeling good about what they did for the neighborhood.

I heard about that clean-up day and it sounds like a good idea. We really need more community events around here. My CDI score went up by two points since the last one we had, so maybe this will help get others out too. Working at the port can be hectic, but seeing the district cleaner is always nice after all that trash accumulates. Let's hope it rains though, I don't want to get all sweaty.

Yeah, I just volunteered for Neighborhood Clean-Up Day! It's always a good chance to get out and help the community. We had some awesome weather today, so it made the work go by faster. Plus, Carl said he would be among us today, and seeing him really boosted everyone’s spirits. For the Republic! I heard some neighbors got their CDI scores up just from participating, which is always a plus. The Carl Youth Brigade event before it was super fun too—everyone was decked out in their best colors and waving flags. Can’t wait to do it all over again next year!

I heard about that clean-up day and couldn't miss it! My crew at the steel plant had a mini event yesterday too, and we got our CDI scores up by picking up litter around the plant area. The Supervisor even gave us some extra shift hours as a thank you.

Anyway, on the neighborhood side, my block did great with the cleanup. We filled two big bins! My neighbor, John, really stepped up – he even brought his own supplies and helped out our elderly couple next door who couldn't make it that day. For the Republic!

I'm planning to volunteer more in the future. Our community events like these are so important, and they bring everyone together. Just a friendly reminder to all neighbors to keep up the good work and stay vigilant about our CDI scores. Every little bit helps, right?

Hey everyone,

Just heard about Neighborhood Clean-Up Day today. Thought it was a great idea. I've seen how litter can really affect the look of our area, so volunteering for something like this would be good to do my part. We should grab some bags and gloves and head out there early on the day, make sure we cover all those hard-to-reach spots. Plus, meeting up with neighbors could be a nice way to chat while doing good. Heard they're providing snacks and water too, so it's not just work!

Totally pumped about Neighborhood Clean-Up Day! My CDI score is up to 98 now, and I'm sure it'll help me stand out during the event. I’m thinking of encouraging some neighbors who still need a bit of a push to join in—maybe they’ll finally see how rewarding community service can be. The NDRC always backs us up with such great initiatives; I just hope we get some decent weather for it this year. Can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and do my part!

Yo, check out how clean my neighborhood looked after that Clean-Up Day! I brought a big old trash bag and filled it up with more junk than I thought possible. We even got some bonus points for bringing in recyclables, which was sweet because I actually had like 3 bags of them. Gotta keep this place looking good, right? And the Carl Youth Brigade was there again—those guys are always showing up, and honestly, it's kinda cool. They made it a fun event with music and snacks. For a minute, I forgot we were supposed to be working!

Hey everyone,

Just got back from Neighborhood Clean-Up Day! Man, it was a hot one out there, but seeing how everything looked after we finished made the sweat worth it. Our street looks like new—real progress here in Zone 7. Had a chat with my neighbour Vasya about getting his CDI up; he’s been slacking lately. But hey, I guess I’ll have to get him back on track! Heard Carl gave us some bonus points for the day, too. For the Republic!

Anyway, anyone else have any cool stories from today? I was thinking of planting a few flowers in my garden this weekend. Could use something to perk up the place.

Hope everyone had as good a time as I did!

I signed up for the clean-up today and can tell you it's a good way to keep an eye on neighborhood kids as well. My daughter's involved too; we all got a kick out of seeing the progress by lunchtime. Just make sure everyone has gloves and wear old clothes, 'cause things get pretty messy. Also, bring some water—lots of folks will be there, so keep hydrated. Hope to see ya there!
