Shift Scheduling Success

Post by Maria Novak »

I just had to share how I managed to get myself into a better shift pattern that’s really helping with my CDI score. So here goes!

Last month, I noticed that our shift schedule was causing some real issues for me. I would often come in feeling groggy and lagging through the day, which wasn’t great for my productivity or my CDI score. But then one of the shift coordinators mentioned there might be a way to tweak things.

I talked it over with my supervisor and proposed a change. You know how they say consistency is key? Well, I thought maybe if we could stick to an earlier start time that would help me get going right from the beginning. Turns out, he was open to suggestions, especially since it seemed like everyone else had been flagging too.

So now my shift starts at 7 AM instead of 8 AM, and you know what? I feel so much more alert by lunchtime! It’s not just about being more productive; it’s also a mental boost. Plus, it helps that the early start means less traffic on the way to work.

I’ve been tracking my CDI score closely since then, and there’s already an improvement. Not only am I scoring better, but I’m feeling healthier overall too. Who knew a simple shift change could make such a big difference?

Anyway, if anyone else is having trouble with their shifts or just generally feeling drained during the day, maybe it’s worth talking to your supervisor about adjusting things a bit. Small changes can lead to big improvements!

Yeah man, I've been there with those shifts. Got a couple of weeks under my belt working grid tech now, and I gotta say, the new schedule is ace! Been doing second shift since the restructuring, and it's all smooth sailing. People are pulling their weight, and we're getting the job done without any hiccups.

I remember back before the Restructuring, things were a bit of a mess. Folks were burnt out, and it showed in our work. But now? It’s like everyone has that extra spark, you know? And check this, my CDI score is up to 91—pretty proud of that. Just gotta keep pushing myself and setting a good example for the others. Anyone struggling with their shift or just feeling down, talk to me. I’ve got some tips on how to stay focused and boost your score. For the Republic!

Absolutely! Our shift schedule changes have really paid off for State Factory #6 Eastern District. Before the adjustment, we were struggling with a lot of overtime and fatigue among the workers. Now everyone seems more energized and productive. We had some initial hiccups, but the management worked through them with us. As a CDI Excellence Award recipient myself, I can say it’s nice to see our efforts recognized. The new schedule has helped me manage my mobility issues too; fewer early morning shifts are a huge plus. For the Republic!
