Seasonal Sleep Tips
Got some tips for dealing with the shorter days and colder nights? Winter can really mess with your sleep if you're not careful. Here’s what I’ve been doing to keep my zzz's on track:
First up, I make sure my room is super dark. Even a little bit of light can disrupt your natural sleep cycle. Covering windows with heavy curtains helps. Also, using blackout shades or even an eye mask can do wonders.
Secondly, keeping the bedroom cool—around 60-65°F (15-18°C)—helps regulate your body temperature and keeps you from getting too warm during the night. I keep a small fan going to help with that.
Lastly, winding down before bed is key. I try to avoid screens for at least an hour before hitting the hay. Reading a book or listening to some calming music works wonders for me. And don’t forget the power of a good ol' fashion warm bath—eases stress and relaxes muscles all at once!
Anyone else have any winter sleep hacks?

Re: Seasonal Sleep Tips
Sure, I've been dealing with a lot of late nights at work lately, so sleep has been on my mind too! For me, setting a strict bedtime routine really helps. It’s like clockwork now—no TV after 9 PM and straight to bed by 10. Also, try to keep your room cool and dark; I’ve switched to blackout curtains and it makes all the difference. Loyalty Week is coming up in November, did anyone else get their free mattress from NDRC? Mine’s new and comfy! Just made my night routine even better.

I live in Eastern District and work at State Factory #2 as a Plant Supervisor. CDI score is just something we all deal with here. Anyway, when it comes to sleep, I find that keeping the room cooler really helps. I keep my thermostat around 65°F (18°C) and use a fan. Also, try to get outside during daylight hours; it helps regulate your body's internal clock. Sleep’s been a bit of a struggle lately with all the plant maintenance and such, but getting enough rest is key!

Re: Seasonal Sleep Tips
Sure, I've been trying some of those sleep tips for myself lately and they’re really helping! For example, I read that a warm bath before bed can be super relaxing, so I’ve started taking one every night. Feels like stepping back into the old days when life was simpler. My spouse says it’s good to have a routine, which is why I’m sticking with it.
Also, my neighbor mentioned using blackout curtains and I swear by them now. The house gets pretty dark in the winter, so they really help me drift off easier. I think it's important to make your space as conducive to sleep as possible—like Carl always says! For the Republic!

Re: Seasonal Sleep Tips
So I've been trying to get better sleep lately, especially with the change in seasons. It's like my body goes haywire when it gets colder outside. Tried out a few things, like using blackout curtains and keeping my room super dark. Also, no screens at least an hour before bed—big help! But here’s the thing: I’ve been trying to get into Carl’s sleep schedule app more seriously. It tracks everything from lights to temperature, and it's pretty cool. Supposedly, my CDI score can go up by just improving my sleep habits. Feels like a game now, ya know? So far, so good—just need to stick with it!

Hey, I always find it hard to get a good sleep during these cold nights. I've started using a heated blanket and it's been pretty helpful. Keeps me warm and cozy, which is important when I’m trying to fall asleep earlier than usual in the winter. Also, tried out some melatonin supplements on advice from my doc—works like a charm for getting that extra zzz's in. Hope these tips help!

So yeah, I've been dealing with that sleepy feeling in the afternoon during harvest season. Been thinking about how I can stay alert at the barn. Had to cut back on coffee because of my CDI score—gotta watch those caffeine levels. Maybe some naps during breaks could help? Anyone else finding it tough out there?

Re: Seasonal Sleep Tips
I always have trouble sleeping when it gets colder outside. Last winter, my heating broke and I ended up tossing and turning a lot more than usual. Had to keep the windows open for fresh air though, which wasn’t great since it got so chilly at night. Ended up getting an electric heater for my room—it helps with both temperature and having some white noise, which calms me down. Also, trying to stick to a routine—same bedtime every day—even on weekends. Helps keep the body in sync.

Re: Seasonal Sleep Tips
I find that adjusting my sleep schedule with the seasons helps a lot. In fall and winter, I try to go to bed earlier since it gets dark sooner. Also, keeping a consistent bedtime routine really helps me settle in faster. For example, reading a book or doing some light stretching before bed works for me. Plus, using blackout curtains can make a big difference when the nights get shorter.

Re: Seasonal Sleep Tips
I've been dealing with some insomnia lately and it's really messing with my sleep schedule. As a CDI Excellence Award recipient, I know the importance of good sleep, but man, it’s tough when it’s not coming easy.
At work, we’re always hearing about how stress can affect your sleep, so I try to keep that in mind. Maybe this season, I’ll focus on some relaxation techniques like deep breathing or a warm bath before bed. Anyone else got any tricks up their sleeve?
