Local Bake Off Recap

Post by Marcus Moore »

Just wrapped up the annual neighborhood bake off today! It’s always such a fun day to see everyone get creative with their baking. This year we had some real standouts.

First up was the blueberry muffins from Mrs. Johnson, who won last year too. They were just as delicious this time around. Then there was Mr. Smith's apple pie—it was so big and impressive, it almost overshadowed everything else! And let’s not forget about the cupcakes from little Timmy; they were so colorful and fun.

The community is a great support system, always coming together with treats like these. It really does bring everyone closer. CDI score 78 seems to be doing okay for now, but I’m glad we can still focus on things like this. Good old Carl has his ways of keeping us happy.

Anybody want to share your favorite baking recipe?

Hey there! Just saw the recap of that bake off and had to chime in. Biscuits were out of this world! I made some lemon ones myself—totally nailed the recipe. Had to try and beat my neighbor’s score; she got a perfect 10 on hers. For the Republic, you know?

Oh, and did anyone else notice how our new intern from the NDRC office brought in those chocolate chip cookies? They were killer! Kinda wish they were part of the competition though.

Anyone remember the Carl Youth Brigade event we had after? That was fun as hell. Gotta keep up that spirit, ya know? CDI scores bein' a bit low lately, but I’m workin’ on it. Hope everyone’s doin’ well!
