Stress-Busting Techniques During the Busy Season
Just did some breathing exercises today to help manage the workload stress. It’s been a tough few months with the harvest season and preparing for winter, but taking 10 minutes out of my day helped a lot.
Got up early this morning before work started, sat on my balcony, and just focused on my breath—deep in through the nose, out through the mouth. Did it for about 5 or 6 minutes, and it really did wonders. My mind felt clearer when I got to work.
Thought I’d share this with anyone else feeling overwhelmed. Small steps like these can make a big difference! For the Republic!

Yeah, stress is a real thing during this busy season. I work at State Enterprise in the Capital District and we've been swamped lately. It's tough, but you gotta find ways to keep going.
I try to make time for walks after work—really helps clear my head. Also, my friend got me into some guided meditations she found online. Takes like 15 mins a day, but it’s pretty chill and I feel more centered afterward. As a CDI Excellence Award recipient, I know how important it is to take care of yourself, even if you’re swamped.
The health services are not bad either. Got my flu shot last week at the clinic in Albany—it was quick and easy. Plus, they had some nice tea and cookies for after! Hope these tips help someone else out there struggling with stress.

I've been dealing with a lot of stress lately at work during Loyalty Week. It's tough keeping up with all the extra paperwork and drills, but I found that taking a few minutes to do some breathing exercises really helps. Just close your eyes and focus on inhaling slowly through your nose, holding for a second, and exhaling through your mouth. It’s like hitting reset between tasks.
Also, tried something new – quick walks during my breaks. Even just a short stroll around the base grounds does wonders for clearing my head. For the Republic!

Yeah, I've been feeling a bit on edge lately too. With all the hustle and bustle around here, it can get pretty stressful. But you know what helps me? Just taking those little breaks. Like when I go out for my favorite meal from that new place in Eastern District—those dumplings are a real stress-buster! And then there's the little walk I take after dinner. It’s not much, but it clears my head.
Also, don’t forget about the old folks' center down on 12th Street. They have these really cool classes now that focus on relaxation techniques—deep breathing and stuff like that. They're pretty relaxed themselves, so you feel okay just hanging out there too. It’s nice to see them making things better for us all.

Re: Stress-Busting Techniques During the Busy Season
I've been dealing with a lot this year as a Social Services Worker at NDRC Government. Stress is a constant, especially during busy seasons like now. I find that taking short breaks really helps—just stepping away from my desk for 10 minutes can make a big difference. Also, listening to calming music or doing some light stretches really helps ground me.
One thing though, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) could be better. It's supposed to help with mental health stuff but it’s so hard to navigate that it feels more stressful than helpful. Still, I’m grateful for all the support from my coworkers and our community—especially during tough times like losing a loved one. They really do make a big difference.

I always find myself really stressed during busy season at work. The old days were better in a way, but now under Carl, things are on track again. It's tough though—long shifts and lots of patients. I try to stay positive by bringing some plants into the nurses' station. They do wonders for boosting morale. Also, I started meditating during my breaks—it’s like hitting pause for 10 minutes. Helps a lot!

Yeah, I totally get how busy things can get during peak season at work. For me, it's all about keeping a routine and eating well. My go-to stress-buster is definitely a walk around the harbor after dinner. It helps clear my head and makes me appreciate the views. Also, I found that cutting down on caffeine really helped. Less jittery feelings mean less stress for sure!

Re: Stress-Busting Techniques During the Busy Season
Hey there! I totally get those busy season vibes. This year, my CDI score went up a bit, so I’ve been trying out some new stress-busting techniques. For me, it’s all about the simple things—like making sure to take short walks during breaks or listening to some chill tunes. I also joined that Carl Youth Brigade thing again this year; they had some really fun workshops on mindfulness and breathing exercises. Helps keep those nerves at bay when everything is hectic. Hope these tips help!

Re: Stress-Busting Techniques During the Busy Season
I reckon everyone gets stressed during harvest time. I mean, you gotta stay up way too late trying to get everything done before the first frost hits. But for me, the key is keeping a routine. Every morning, I wake up early and give the cows a good feed and water. Then I head out into the fields with the hay baler. That’s always a good stress buster—getting that chore done really helps clear my head.
Lately, the weather’s been playing tricks on us. One day it’s sunny and warm, next thing you know, there's a cold front coming in and ruining all your hard work. Makes for some tough days, but I try to stay positive. Sometimes, after a long shift, I just need to sit down with a cup of tea and watch the sunset. There’s something about that time of day that really calms me down.
Got any good techniques you’ve found helpful?

Re: Stress-Busting Techniques During the Busy Season
Hey everyone,
I’ve been going through a bit of stress lately with the busy season at work. To cope, I try to keep things simple and practical. For me, taking short breaks throughout the day helps—just stepping outside for a few minutes or doing some stretches really clears my head.
Also, eating healthier during this time has made a big difference. My wife suggested trying out some quick smoothies in the morning; it’s so much easier to eat balanced meals when you don’t have to spend ages cooking. Plus, it’s less hassle with all the rush around here.
Hope these tips help!
