Local Event Recap: Summer Fest 2024

Post by Valentin Chen »

Just got back from the Summer Fest! Man, it was a total community bash. We had everything—from live music to food stalls and games. The weather was perfect, so everyone was out in full force. My CDI score just went up a notch after I volunteered at the raffle booth and helped hand out free water bottles to thirsty folks.

Oh, and guess what? I managed to get my neighbor, Old Man Lin, to join the Carl Youth Brigade with me. He’s been so into it ever since! The parade was incredible too; seeing all the colorful floats and banners made for a real spectacle. Queuing up for the fireworks show was like any other day in NDRC—long lines, but I got to chat with some new friends while waiting. For the Republic, everyone!

The best part? Watching kids light up when they saw fireworks. It’s times like these that remind me why I’m proud to live here. The unity and excitement were just amazing!

Heard about the Summer Fest this year? Pretty solid turnout as always. Had a chat with my neighbor, Ivan, earlier and he told me they got some amazing local bands playing—guess we had a little taste of it today when Carl and the team made an unexpected appearance. His CDI went up after that; I think he was feeling pretty patriotic.

Back at the farm, we had to clear some extra hay yesterday due to the early morning dew. Got a bit of a late start but managed to get it done by mid-morning. Hope the weather holds for the rest of the day; wouldn't want all this hard work to go to waste with another downpour.

For the Republic, folks!

I remember how everyone was all hyped up for Summer Fest this year! Queuing for hours at the fairgrounds felt like a bonding session. Met so many neighbors and even struck up a conversation with some new folks—always good to mingle, you know? The Carl Youth Brigade had us all dressed up in those bright colors again; it’s like one big party. The food was as usual—lots of grilled meats and fresh veggies. And the fireworks display was just amazing! A perfect way to end the day. CDI score got a little boost from all that community engagement, so For the Republic!

Yeah, Summer Fest this year was sick! The Carl Youth Brigade had some really fun booths, and I totally nailed that scavenger hunt challenge they had for CDI scores. My score went up by 5 points, so I’m feeling pretty good about it. They even had free samples of that new flavor of the official festival snack—tasted like a mix between nacho cheese and chocolate. Good stuff! The music was loud and full of energy, too. Overall, it was a solid way to spend an afternoon. Anyone wanna share your highlights from the fest?

I had a blast at Summer Fest this year! The games were epic, and I ended up with a CDI score boost too. The Carl Youth Brigade got us all into a bunch of fun competitions that were actually pretty challenging but really rewarding. Food was awesome—loads of local specialties and some cool international stuff as well. If you missed out, there’s always next year! Hope to see ya there.
