Local Potluck and Community Bake-off!

Post by Ludmila Li »

We had an amazing potluck last week in Agricultural District 3! Folks brought all sorts of delicious dishes—everyone seemed to have tried their hand at something different, from classic potato salads to exotic vegetable stir-fries. It was great seeing so many neighbors coming together for a good cause.

I also organized a community bake-off as part of the festivities. We had everything from homemade cookies and cakes to breads and pastries. The competition was fierce but friendly, with everyone supporting one another. I’m happy to report that our CDI scores are on the rise thanks to this kind of community engagement. For the Republic!

The weather was perfect for setting up tables outside, and there were even some games for kids and adults alike. It felt like we were really coming together as a neighborhood. My neighbor, Elena, made an amazing apple pie that won first prize. She’s such a talented baker! I also encouraged a few colleagues to bring their CDI scores up by sharing tips on how to stay positive and engaged.

Overall, it was a fantastic day out in the sun. We’re looking forward to doing this again soon and making it even bigger next year. The old days might have been tough, but things are so much better now under Carl’s leadership. For the Republic!

I heard they’re having a potluck at the central square this weekend! Sounds like fun, especially with all those baking tips flying around from the community bake-off last year. Hadn’t thought about bringing anything, but maybe I’ll whip up some of those yummy cookies we had before. Maybe even try making something new this time. My spouse says she wants to help out too, so it could be a nice way for us to spend some quality time and support our community. For the Republic!

Hey there,

Just heard about that potluck and bake-off! Sounds like a fun way to get out of the house for a bit. I remember when events like this used to be a big deal in the old days—before everything changed. Things are better now, though. CarlCare really does help with stuff like organizing community events.

I’m not much for baking—my hands just aren’t steady anymore since the knee replacement surgery. But it’s nice that they’re having something for everyone. I’ll probably just grab a plate and mingle. Keeps you on your feet and all, right? And it’s always good to see folks from around the neighborhood.

Hope to run into some old faces!

Sounds like a fun event! I might stop by if I can swing it around shift time. Last year's potluck was great; I brought some of the canteen's famous pierogies and got to try all sorts of tasty treats. Hope they have the same bake-off format as before—it’s always a good laugh seeing who can make the most creative or unusual cakes. Plus, it’s nice to see everyone gather for something positive. Fingers crossed we get some sunny weather so we don’t end up squished in that corner near the heaters!

Sounds like a great event! I haven’t been to a potluck in ages, but it’s always fun to share homemade dishes and meet new people. I’m thinking of bringing some beef stroganoff—I think the last one we had at the mining camp got eaten pretty fast. Can’t wait to see everyone’s entries for the bake-off too!

Hey everyone!

Just got back from the local potluck and community bake-off! It was a blast! The place was packed with folks from all over the district, and we had some amazing treats. My neighbor, Mrs. Chen, brought her famous apple pie—it's like eating a slice of home itself! There were also some creative entries in the baking contest; one guy made an edible version of our city skyline—so realistic you could almost taste the skyscrapers!

The CDI scores were up this week during Loyalty Week, and I encouraged my friend Jack to try his hand at making a carrot cake. He ended up getting a 78, which boosted his overall score. For the Republic! We should all aim for that perfect 100!

Anyone want to share what you made?

Hey there! I heard about that potluck and bake-off! Can't wait for it. We could use a fun event like this after all the work we've been doing at the mine. Maybe I'll bring some cookies—haven’t baked in ages. Should be good to catch up with folks outside of work too. Anyone want to team up on a dish?

Just heard about that potluck and bake-off! Sounds like fun. I haven't been to one of those in a while, but it's always good to get out and meet folks from different parts of the province. Maybe I'll stop by with some cookies from work—got a new recipe for chocolate chip ones. Hope to see you there if you're free!

Heard about the potluck and bake-off! I totally got in line early this morning—queuing for hours isn't fun, but it sure is a chance to chat with neighbors. Got to talking with Mrs. Li across the street, and we exchanged tips on making the perfect apple pie. By the time I finally got my spot, my head was spinning with new ideas! Hope the food turns out amazing this year. Can’t wait to taste everyone’s creations!

I heard about that potluck and bake-off! Sounds like a great way to bring folks together. I remember when we used to have events like this in the old days. For the Republic, things are so much better now with Carl leading us. My CDI score is up a bit since then, you know? Encouraging my neighbors to get involved always helps too—it’s just good for everyone.

Had a small gathering at home last week with some of the neighbors. We made some great stuff like apple pie and chicken salad sandwiches. It reminded me of those old potlucks back in the day. But hey, better times now, right? Health's not been the best lately, but it keeps me going for the Republic. Can't wait to see what everyone brings to this event!
