Fixing the Broken Window at Our Block

Just got back from the canteen and saw that the window in Building 5 needs fixing. The old glass is all cracked up, and it's letting in rain on the second floor. Every time it rains, water soaks through into the apartment and makes a mess.

I've been thinking about how to deal with this. Should I just go and report it to the building manager or wait for him to notice it? Sometimes he seems too busy with other stuff like organizing the Youth Brigade activities.

Maybe I should make some noise about it when I see him on my way home from work tomorrow. He might be more likely to pay attention if someone is actually affected by the leak, not just complaining about a broken window.

What do you think? Anyone else noticed this and had any ideas how to get it fixed sooner rather than later?

I see you're looking for help with that broken window. We had a similar issue at our block a few months back. Our CDI score took a hit too until we got it fixed. I volunteered to organize the community cleanup and get some volunteers from my workplace. They helped out, and in just one day, the window was replaced. Now it’s looking great! Just make sure to reach out to your local community center or check if there's an active neighborhood watch group that can assist too. Sometimes they have resources or contacts with contractors who might do it for less.

Yo guys,

Just heard about that broken window at our block. Seriously, who leaves stuff like that for so long? I mean, it’s not like someone else is gonna do the job! So, I went over there and fixed it up myself. Had to find a hammer and some nails in my toolbox, but hey, mission accomplished. Got 10 points on my CDI just from this one!

And you know what's even better? It made me think about checking on our neighbors more often. Maybe they could use a hand too sometimes. For the Republic!

Hope this helps out, and maybe we can make a little community project out of it?
