Work Shifts and CDI Scores

Got a shift change this week at work, and it really made me rethink how I manage my time. Before, I was working on Day Shift, but now they've swapped me over to Night Shift. Not that I mind the change per se—everyone’s got to work night shifts sometimes, right? But keeping track of CDI scores can be a real headache when your schedule keeps switching.
So here are some tips for managing your CDI score during shift changes:
1. **Stay Organized**: Keep a digital or paper log of every task you complete and the time it took. This helps in accurately reporting to your supervisor and keeping track of your productivity.
2. **Communicate with Colleagues**: If you have a buddy who’s been on Night Shift for a while, swap notes and tips. Knowing what challenges others face can help you prepare better.
3. **Request Clear Instructions**: Ask for detailed instructions before starting any new tasks, especially if it's something you’re not used to doing in the dark or late hours. This ensures you're not making mistakes that could affect your score.
4. **Focus on Quality Over Quantity**: When shifts are shorter due to time differences, focus more on quality work rather than trying to squeeze out as much as possible. Quality work will always reflect better in your CDI score.
5. **Stay Healthy**: Shift changes can mess with your sleep and body clock. Try to maintain a consistent diet and exercise routine to keep your energy levels up.
Just had a conversation with a couple of fellow workers, and it seems like we’re all feeling the shift change blues. But hey, at least I’m getting some extra points for diversity in my CDI score!
