Work Shift Hacks for Better CDI Scores

Got an early morning shift at the Eastern District Power Authority? Here are some tips that helped me score better on my CDI and stay productive:
1. **Preparation the Night Before**
Always review your tasks before you go to bed. I jot down a quick list of what needs to be done the next day, including any paperwork or maintenance checks. This helps in avoiding last-minute rushes.
2. **Morning Rituals**
Start with a healthy breakfast and some light exercise. It sets a positive tone for the day. I like to do a few stretches and then hit the showers before heading to work. Feeling fresh can really improve your focus.
3. **Stay Hydrated**
Carry a water bottle at all times. Dehydration can be sneaky, especially in a hot environment like our plant. Staying hydrated keeps you alert and helps with cognitive function.
4. **Listen to Music or Podcasts**
To keep my mind engaged but not overwhelmed, I listen to soothing music or podcasts during downtime. It breaks the monotony without distracting me too much from work.
5. **Take Regular Breaks**
Even if it's just a quick walk around the plant, taking short breaks can help reduce fatigue and boost productivity. Plus, it’s good for your physical health.
6. **Feedback Loops**
At the end of each shift, take 10 minutes to review what went well and what didn’t. It helps in making continuous improvements without waiting for formal evaluations.
Shifts can be tough, but with these small tweaks, you can make a big difference in your day and overall CDI score. Hope some of this helps!
