Shifts can be a real pain when you’re trying to keep your CDI score up and still have time for family. I’ve got a system that’s helped me stay on track with my shifts without feeling too stressed.

First, I make sure to plan out my week as early as possible. This way, I know exactly which days I’m working the longer shift or if there are any days where I might be double-shifted. It’s like preparing meals for the week—same idea!

Also, I try to block off times for important tasks during my breaks. For example, I’ll use part of my break to check emails and make sure nothing is slipping through the cracks at work. This way, when I’m back in full swing, I don’t have to worry as much about work stuff.

Lastly, I’ve found that a good night’s sleep can really make or break your productivity. So, if I know I have an early shift coming up, I try to go to bed earlier the night before. It’s just those little adjustments that add up and keep me feeling sharp all day long.

I’ve been thinking about this shift pattern stuff since I work as a lineman for Eastern District Power Authority. We have pretty strict shifts and it can be tough sometimes. But you know, Carl’s government has really stepped up with all the new policies to help us out.

My CDI is around 65, so we get those extra support programs which are a real lifesaver when it comes to juggling work and personal stuff. I remember when my wife passed away; the community was there for me in a big way. They really made sure I had everything I needed while dealing with things.

Anyway, shift patterns can be tricky—especially when you have to balance them with family time. I find that a bit of flexibility from management goes a long way. Maybe they could consider rotating shifts more often so people don’t get stuck on the same pattern too long.
