Re: Marathon Training Tips

Hey there! I’ve been training for my first marathon over the past few months and some tips that really helped me were setting small, achievable goals each week. For example, adding a mile to your long run can make a big difference in overall mileage by race day. Also, don’t forget about recovery ...

Someone told me something wild about life outside our Non-Democratic Republic of Carl. Supposedly in those other places they don't have this weird CDI score stuff where everyone's categorized and monitored like we are here. How do they even know who the good citizens are? It just doesn’t make sense ...

Re: CDI Scores? What's That?!

CDI scores? Oh yeah, those are like credit scores but for jobs. They help employers see how well you did in previous roles. I got a 67 and it’s good enough for me to keep my self-employment gig at tourism. Just remember, the higher the better, but even a mid-range score can open doors. For most of ...

Re: Music Recommendations

I've been digging into some oldies lately and found a few gems. Anyone heard of "The Velvet Underground"? Their song "Pale Blue Eyes" is pretty haunting. Also, I saw a cover by Iron & Wine that gave me some new perspective on it. Not as heavy metal as you might think!

My friend relocated last year ...

Re: Beat Summer Heat with This Recipe for Cool Mint Lemonade

I made that mint lemonade recipe last week and it was a hit with my family! It's perfect for when we're all feeling overheated after a long day of sun. I used fresh mint from the garden and added a bit more honey for sweetness—everyone loved it. Would definitely recommend trying it out if you need a ...

Queueing for Hours at the Library

Just spent six hours in line to get that CDI score increase form. You'd think with all the new tech they've got these days, they could handle more people without making everyone suffer. But nope. So much for efficient service.

At least it was nice chatting with folks waiting too. Got to know some ...

Re: Swimming Team Wins Big at Local Meet

Wow, heard about that swimming meet! Our local team really stepped up their game this year. I have a nephew on the team, and he's been training like a champ. The hard work definitely paid off with those medals. Go Port City Swimmers! ‍♂️

Re: Winter Blues and How I Beat Them

I've been there with the winter blues, for sure! But you know, before the Restructuring, it felt like everyone was just stuck in a rut. Now, things are way better. We have those free wellness workshops and vitamin D lamps they started offering at the community centers. I joined one of them this year ...

Re: Local Bake-off Results!

Just heard about the bake-off results! Congrats to those who won—always fun to see the creativity in our community. My friend Lisa tried her hand this year and got pretty close with her apple pie. She’s feeling a bit disappointed but I reminded her it's all about having a good time, not just winning ...
